Walking Basketball

The Isle of Wight Basketball Club is providing Walking Basketball sessions in West Wight Leisure Centre Freshwater on Monday afternoons at 2pm for an hour. These sessions are aimed at ex-players who may feel they are too old to play the running game, or maybe recently recovered from an injury.  It is also open to anyone who fancies giving it a try just to get some exercise and have fun.

We are hoping to increase our provision working with the ‘Sport in Mind’ Charity to provide sessions in The Bay School Sandown on Thursday afternoons at 5pm in the not-too-distant future.

The Freshwater sessions are being taken by Basketball England’s Tim Brown MBE who is the current chair of the IOW Basketball Club. Tim has full enhanced DBS and Safeguarding certificates as well as being licensed by the governing body Basketball England.
